As with each year, the Festival is staging an extravagant production in the Sultan's Pool, which this year is dedicated to the songs of Israeli cinema - from its beginnings in 1955 with the film "Hill 24 Doesn't Answer" until the present day. All the songs, that will be performed to new arrangements, will be sung either by the singers who made them famous, or by a new generation of singers. Segments from the films will be screened during the performance. The Israeli film industry definitely deserves this tribute, all the more so because the first ever film and one of the most recent ones, Beaufort (2007), were both Oscar candidates for the Best Foreign Film.

Peep-Dance

Israel-Japan

פיפדאנס

Tami Dance Company/Nimrod Freed & Kaym

Choreographer Nimrod Freed has borrowed the concept of the peep show to provide audiences with a glance into the world of movement, dance and aesthetics. Peeping Toms will be rewarded with outstanding dancers from Israel and Japan dancing completely difference movements to the same music. Seven cubicles, each with 20 peep holes, will be set up in the Sherover Plaza. Each cubicle will contain dancers giving their own interpretation to the music. The spectators are invited to move from cubicle to cubicle to view and judge for themselves the quality of the different dancers. Peep-Dance premiered in Japan in 2007 to great critical acclaim.
